SWE Rochester participates in the merit-based scholarship program developed by an umbrella organization of engineering societies in Rochester, the Rochester Engineering Society (RES). Detailed scholarship information, including the application, can be found at RES' Scholarship page

The $1,000 SWE Scholarship will be awarded in even-numbered years to an undergraduate student meeting the requirements listed at the RES site. The scholarship deadline is usually in the end of December, with an applicant interview occurring within the six months prior to the application deadline. Scholarships are announced in February or March, coinciding with the RES Annual Gala.

Beyond the requirements of the RES, the SWE Scholarship will mandate SWE student membership, and will take into account the applicant's participation in their local SWE section.
